About your new Role

This role will be supporting the FVA Amarok Program. The Ford–Volkswagen Alliance combines global expertise to create smarter, more sustainable mobility solutions. We deliver innovation, efficiency, and strength—while respecting the independence of both brands.

Our Melbourne office ensures seamless collaboration with Ford. Managing  Volkswagen’s product requirements across timelines, budgets, and lifecycle management with our partner.

 

In this position, you will play a critical role in representing Volkswagen locally to our strategic cooperation partner Ford, while working closely with Volkswagen’s global product teams in Germany. You will be responsible for managing change processes, coordinating governance activities, and ensuring alignment between both partners across the full product lifecycle of the VW Amarok where necessary.

Your main responsibilities will include:

  • Review, assess, and validate proposed technical and program changes from both Ford and Volkswagen.
  • Track and manage the implementation of changes through formal governance forums with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Prepare, coordinate, and follow up on decisions to ensure alignment and timely execution.
  • Coordinate and review Program Direction Letters (PDLs) to ensure build feasibility for the Volkswagen derivative.
  • Develop and represent Volkswagen’s position on change and complexity management topics.
  • Create and support concepts related to change governance, PDLs, and complexity optimisation.
  • Prepare and align meeting minutes for cooperation-specific committees and working groups.
  • Ensure accurate documentation and proper storage of all mandatory materials across internal and external data rooms.
  • Work effectively with collaboration and documentation tools including Confluence, Microsoft Teams, and Microsoft Office.

 

About you
To succeed in this role, you will need to possess the following:

  • Tertiary qualification in Industrial Engineering, Business Administration, Engineering, or a related discipline (cross-functional background preferred).
  • Experience in the light commercial vehicle segment (pick-ups up to 3.5 tonnes) is advantageous.
  • Background in Sales, Marketing, Product, or Program Management within the automotive industry is beneficial.
  • Experience working in international or cross-cultural environments is highly regarded.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to manage technical and program-related information.
  • Confident stakeholder management and communication skills.
  • Strong Excel and documentation skills.
  • German language skills (spoken and/or written at B2 level) desirable but not mandatory.
