The role will report to the Steam, Hydro &amp; Nuclear Commercial &amp; Projects Controller and primarily support the Hydro Power business and operational finance teams. <p></p><h1><span><b>Job Description</b></span></h1><p><b><span>What </span><span>you’ll</span><span> do</span></b><span> </span></p><ul><li><p><span><span>Provide ongoing US GAAP technical and operational accounting guidance to</span><span> the Hydro Power</span><span> business unit and project finance teams.</span></span><span> </span></p></li><li><p><span><span>Partner with project and commercial teams to evaluate contract terms and conditions and provide strategic support on accounting implications for significant and unusual transactions.</span></span><span> </span></p></li><li><p><span><span>Support accounting policy updates and provide regular business training.</span></span></p></li><li><p><span><span>Perform technical accounting assessments on various project accounting matters such as contract commercial terms, revenue recognition, change orders, claims and customer concessions.</span></span></p></li><li><p><span><span>Research authoritative guidance and lead technical accounting memo documentation and related consultations.</span></span><span> </span></p></li><li><p><span><span>Participate in regular operating reviews with Segment Controller, providing status updates process improvement initiatives, watchlist items and significant accounting matters.</span></span><span> </span></p></li><li><p><span><span>Manage the review and documentation for key revenue recognition controls such as the quarterly Big Deal Review and New Order Review.</span></span><span> </span></p></li><li><p><span><span>Ensure SOX key project accounting control compliance.</span></span><span> </span></p></li><li><p><span><span>Review project level financial statements to </span><span>identify</span><span> unusual balances and significant exposure to ensure compliance and </span><span>appropriate disclosures</span><span>.
