At DSV, the Enterprise Data Platform (EDP) is seeking a motivated and skilled individual to join our team as a Lead Backend Engineer in our office in Hedehusene.

EDP – A Key Initiative to Centralize All Data at DSV
You will be part of a new initiative to centralize our data at an enterprise level. The EDP treats data as an asset and product, ensuring high-quality data is available reliably and timely. This initiative will unlock AI and advanced analytics potential, driving standardization, optimization, and improvements across DSV globally.

Curious and Interested in Digital Transformation
As a Lead Backend Engineer on the Enterprise Data Platform (EDP), you will be accountable across multiple components and platforms related to EDP. During one development sprint, you may be implementing a new platform capability, while in the next sprint, you collaborate with the Enterprise Architect and Solution Architect on developing a blueprint for another new capability across Enterprise Transformation. Further, you will drive continuous improvement in Engineering and Operations Excellence across EDP.

As EDP’s role in the overall DSV Technical landscape, you play an integral role in delivering proofs of concept, consulting with data consumers and producers in optimal integration patterns and liaise with peers on working out architectural patterns and technologies. You will be working closely together with the Head of Enterprise Data Platform in driving the capability roadmap across the entire EDP as well as participating in roll out planning and activities across DSV globally.

With a good balance between recurring tasks and innovative, ad hoc assignments, your workday will include:

• Feature Delivery: Implement new platform capabilities and deliver complex platform features across EDP.
• Technical Leadership & Collaboration: Work closely with the Enterprise and Solution Architect on developing blueprints and establish patterns for new capabilities.
• Support and Maintenance: Provide 3rd level support, maintain system documentation, and organize and execute technical spikes.
• Consumer Engagement: Meet with data consumers and producers to understand their pain points and consult on optimal integration patterns.
• Continuous Improvement: Drive continuous improvement in engineering and operations excellence, delivering proofs of concept, and liaising with peers on architectural patterns and technologies.

Qualifications

Furthermore, we imagine that you:

• Have 10+ years of successful hands-on experience with complex backends, as well as thorough experience with Data Engineering, Event-driven systems, and Data Mesh concepts, ideally within Supply Chain and Logistics.
• Hold a master’s degree in a relevant field, such as MSc in Engineering.
• Have a strong understanding of data-as-a-product and the importance of data quality.
• Master the following technologies: Java Spring Boot, Confluent Kafka, MongoDB, ELK, Azure DevOps, Kubernetes.
• Have hands-on experience with AWS or GCP, including BigQuery.
• Possess exceptional analytical skills, are self-driven, and have strong communication skills.
