The Strategic Sourcing Specialist will be part of the core Strategic Sourcing team, responsible for facilitating the vendor intake to onboarding activities in partnership with business collaborators with a strive to drive value and savings across the organization that will translate to our customers, suppliers, and employees.  These efforts are in tight-knit collaboration with a number of teams and partners including Vendor Relationship Managers (VRMs), legal, risk & compliance, information security, privacy, and payments to ensure Amex GBT has a strategic, effective and compliant vendor program. 

As a member of the Strategic Sourcing Organization, you will be part of a diverse and dedicated team who support the following categories:

• Corporate Services
• Product, Platform, & Technology
• Sourcing Optimization and Operations

What You'll Do:

Vendor Engagements:Support the contract execution process for third-party vendor engagements as designated and assigned through the use of approved processes and tools including but not limited to:

• Lead the vendor request intake process including triage, initial discussions with VRMs to understand scope of projects, guidance on prioritization and expectations, and handling Sourcing queue assignments
• Coordinate contract feedback and recommended edits across the internal contracting subject matter authorities, VRMs, and vendors where appropriate
• Facilitate final completion of agreements including customer sign-off, signing memos, and contract execution
• Handle and maintain contract repository for all implemented agreements and supporting documentation
• Perform pricing and commercial terms analysis
• Support Amex GBT Managers in the set-up of the RFx

Operations & Optimization:  Provide guidance, thought leadership, data analytics, and Sourcing operational excellence to support strategic planning across the organization, including but not limited to:

• Own and handle the Strategic Sourcing shared inbox, responding and prioritizing questions and critical issues from partners across the organization
• Become a subject matter expert with the Sourcing tools and technologies to ensure efficient collaboration
• Drive business & data analysis including financial, contractual, and operational performance to support vendor initiatives, cost savings efforts, and enterprise-wide initiatives
• Improve the value story of Strategic Sourcing through effective documentation and tracking of savings, cost avoidance, and / or revenue opportunities
• Supervise and maintain third-party vendor validation including onboarding completion, appropriate documentation for purchase order approvals, vendor record validation and maintenance, and other general queries
• Any additional change management support required including but not limited to Merger & Acquisitions, Sourcing operations and improvements, audit responses
• Consider Amex GBT’s Environmental, Social, and Governance programs in all that we do

What We're Looking For:

• Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent work experience, with a focus in Supply Chain and / or Finance preferred
• Minimum 2-years prior experience supporting strategic sourcing principles including procurement, negotiations (client or vendor), contracting, purchasing, or the equivalent 
• Strong and proven commercial and financial acumen with a focus on partnership and negotiations
• Excellent relationship management and collaboration skills across various areas of the business
• Analytical, detail oriented, organized, and independent.
• Critical thinking and thought leadership capabilities
• Professional written, verbal, and presentation skills
• Advanced Excel and data aggregation skills
• Sourcing / procurement technology experience a plus
• Able to collaborate with remote teams optimally
• Ability to multitask and work in a fast-paced and constantly evolving environment

The US national annual base salary range for this position is from $50,000 to $100,000.  The national range provided includes the base salary that GBT expects to pay for the role.  Actual base salary will be based on factors including the scope and complexity of the role and the successful candidate’s relevant experience, skills, knowledge, and work locati
