Responsibilities
The primary purpose of the Executive Director Emergency Department position is to strategically develop and implement the clinical activities of the Emergency Department Services unit, and to provide direction and oversight for the business operations and fiscal management of the Emergency Department. The Executive Director has the responsibility, authority and accountability for the 24-hour management, administration, and organizational development of the Emergency Department. Facilitates quality patient care and patient safety within the areas of the Emergency Department.
Qualifications
Licensed to practice as a Registered Nurse in the State of New Jersey with a BSN required. Master’s Degree in Nursing, Nursing Administration, Healthcare Administration, or Business Administration required. Eight (8) years of progressively more responsible nursing experience preferably in a university affiliated tertiary care facility, including at least three (3) years in management required or as Director of the Emergency Department in a medical center. In addition, must have the ability to work effectively with other healthcare professionals and possesses effective communication, organization and team building skills. Strong strategic and analytic ability required. Equivalent experience or education may be substituted for the Master’s Degree requirement
