One of our most challenging new fields is Microelectronics Design and Applications (MDA), which combines the unique properties of superconductivity and quantum mechanics to develop radical new energy-efficient computing systems. MDA is seeking a Principal/Sr. Principal Systems Engineer with demonstrated ability to lead development of new technologies to support our innovative MDA team in support of emerging supercomputing technologies.
What You’ll Get to Do:
- Ensure system technical compliance with the program Statement of Work (SOW) and system requirements.
- Manage the vertical and horizontal technical integration throughout the product teams and program life cycle, collaborating across the MDA portfolio of programs.
- Collect, manage, and report the program metrics and Technical Performance Measures (TPMs).
- Manage risk and opportunity and the production of core engineering work products and track the work products and associated program dependencies in the program schedule.
- Coordinate between the System Architect, Chief Engineer, Product Team Lead(s), program manager, and customer to ensure the integrity and executability of the program technical baseline.
- Lead the development and implementation of manufacturing systems and processes for new and existing products.
- Perform systems analysis to identify areas for improvement in manufacturing efficiency and product quality.
- Collaborate with design engineers to ensure manufacturability of new products.
- Develop and maintain documentation for manufacturing processes, including standard operating procedures (SOPs) and work instructions.
- Implement lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Conduct root cause analysis and implement corrective actions for technical issues.
- Ensure compliance with relevant industry standards and regulations.
- Mentor junior engineers and technicians in systems engineering principles and best practices.
- Stay current with emerging technologies and industry trends in manufacturing and systems engineering.
This position is contingent on clearance.
This position will serve on-site in Linthicum / Annapolis Junction, MD.
This position can be filled at the Principal or Sr. Principal level. Qualifications for each level below.
Basic Qualifications for Principal Systems Engineer:
- Bachelor's degree in a STEM discipline with 5 years of experience, a Master's degree in a STEM discipline with 3 years of experience, or a PhD in a STEM discipline with 0 years of experience.
- Proven track record of successful development of technologies to maturity of the Systems Engineering Life cycle. Demonstrated experience with Systems Development Lifecycle with a focus on SRR to CDR.
- Demonstrated Model Based Systems Engineering (SysML) experience.
