POSITION OVERVIEW:
- Review inventory positions against demand forecasts and develop production plans for internal plants and co-manufacturing partners. These plans will provide best-in-class service levels, while delivering plant and system efficiency. Production plans will consider controlling any future distress sales potential.
- Communicate and execute these production plans to the plant schedulers, purchasing, and plant operations management.
- Manage inventory levels within stated weeks of coverage target ranges, unless financially beneficial reasons can be provided otherwise.
- Effectively plan and communicate with all levels of the organization on production capabilities to meet the current, mid-term and long-term forecasted growth of the organization.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Review inventory positions against demand forecasts and develop production plans for internal plants and co-manufacturing partners. These plans will provide best-in-class service levels, while delivering plant and system efficiency. Production plans will consider controlling any future distress sales potential.
- Communicate and execute these production plans to the plant schedulers, purchasing, and plant operations management.
- Manage inventory levels within stated weeks of coverage target ranges, unless financially beneficial reasons can be provided otherwise.
- Effectively plan and communicate with all levels of the organization on production capabilities to meet the current, mid-term and long-term forecasted growth of the organization.
- Provide overall leadership for S&OE Meetings, inventory planning, capacity planning, master production scheduling, and materials management to meet Hormel strategy.
- Provide best in class scheduling to all production plants, to maintain weeks of coverage while controlling plant and company costs.
- Partner with and create a strong working relationship with co-manufacturing locations to provide or supplement supply.
- Partner with Demand Planning, Marketing and Operations to create tactical, mid-, and long-term production plans to meet demand, optimize inventory, and material procurement strategies.
- Be accountable for achievement of the company’s targeted customer service level results.
- Identify new items and ensure that each item is properly set up in production planning systems. Responsible for ensuring that unique situations, such as label change, promotional packaging, etc. are understood and planned for.
- Support compiling, monitoring, and communicating recommendations during weekly S&OE planning meetings.
- Identify and communicate supply driven potential short falls as well as capacity excess for additional tonnage to organizational leaders.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Required
- Bachelor’s degree, or equivalent planning experience.
- Ability to take initiative, and work independently.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, OP (Mainframe), WMS (AS400), Power Point, HDS. Ability to learn o9 planning system.
- Ability to multitask with a high degree of accuracy.
- Problem solving and analytical skills.
- Strong organizational ability and detail focus.
- Highly developed interpersonal skills.
- Strong verbal and written communication ski
