Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Microbiology, Food Safety or Food Science related course of study or equivalent experience
- Three years of experience in a Manufacturing environment or equivalent experience
- Two years of leadership experience or equivalent experience
- HACCP Basic Training
- Ability to obtain SQF Certified Practitioner within the first year
- Ability to obtain FDA approved Preventive Controls Qualified Individual status within the first year
- Knowledge or Federal and State Regulatory requirements specific to food safety and related areas (PMO, State Food Codes, Weights and Measures, Code of Federal Regulations) and the principles behind these requirements affecting retail, manufacturing, warehousing and distribution
- Knowledge of a retail supermarket, manufacturing, warehousing, distribution processes and programs impacting food safety
- Knowledge of the interactions between Federal (FDA, CDC) and state agencies
- Knowledge of food manufacturing practices
- Knowledge of food microbiology and chemistry
- Knowledge of traceability in foods

Preferred Qualifications
- Master’s degree in Microbiology, Food Safety or Food Science related course of study or equivalent experience
- Three years of Publix Manufacturing management experience
- SQF Certified Practitioner
