Director, IBP (Integrated Business Planning)

At Smith+Nephew we design and manufacture technology that takes the limits off living.  The Director, Global IBP (Integrated Business Planning), is responsible for deploying formal SIOP (Sales, Inventory & Operations Planning) Governance, driving maturity toward Integrated Business Planning (IBP), and enabling the integration of advanced supply chain system data within the process. This role will be accountable for developing and sustaining processes that ensure global Revenue, Unit Demand Plans, Supply Plans and Inventory are optimized to meet business objectives. This role will chair global forums to ensure coordination and execution of IBP initiatives. Additionally, this role will assist in executing various strategic initiatives that drive exponential improvement in productivity and operational effectiveness of the Smith+Nephew supply chain and alignment within the broader organization.

What will you be doing?

• Improve and Sustain Global SIOP/IBP Forums
• Drive maturity of the current SIOP operating model towards IBP
• Maintain & govern standard planning procedures across all business units and regions

• Ensure SIOP/IBP processes adequately identify business issues and raise tradeoff decisions (e.g. investments, service and inventory)
• Facilitate problem solving with global manufacturing and global demand planning teams resulting in improvements to standard processes
• Deploy & enable process technology to maximize data transparency, and eliminate non-value-add steps within the process
• Enhance planning logic to support a complex build to stock supply chain model
• Performs other duties as required

Location: US - Field or Costa Rica

Education:

Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Operations, or related field

Master's degree preferred

Licenses/ Certifications: None Required; APICS/ASCM & Lean Manufacturing/Six Sigma/Advanced Leadership Training desired.

What will you need to be successful?

• 10 or more years experience in Supply Chain, Production Planning, Buying / Planning and Procurement using SAP/Oracle with demonstrated BI capability.

  Extensive experience with Advanced Planning Collaboration platforms (e.g. Kinaxis RapidResponse) required.

• Subject matter expert in Integrated Business Planning (IBP), Sales & Operations Planning (S&OP), and/or supply chain planning functions.

• Global leadership with demonstrated ability manage and influence regional and global teams within a matrixed environment.

• Excellent communicator and demonstrated ability to influence and facilitate cross-functional corporate teaming.

• Experienced IBP/SIOP professional with multiple implementations of formal governance forums/processes.

• Demonstrated business and financial acumen.
