Business Unit Overview:
The Institutional Client Business (ICB) develops and maintains relationships with institutional investors including pension funds, insurance companies, industry consultants and family offices. ICB’s product proposition comprises a broad range of both actively managed and index pooled/ segregated investments (traditional and alternative investment products), and services such as fiduciary management. The Dutch Institutional Client Business team is responsible for maintaining and expanding the institutional book of business in The Netherlands. It works in close partnership with the Portfolio Management as well as other stakeholders like Legal and Compliance teams, Reporting and Operational teams to adapt processes to meet customer-specific and legal requirements.
Job Purpose/Background:
The successful candidate will be assisting in the overarching sales coverage (relationship and client service) for a portfolio of client accounts – effectively being the “face” of BlackRock. The focus of the role is to proactively widen and deepen client relationships to become a trusted partner. Specifically, take responsibility to ensure a consistent delivery of high quality and seamless service offering. Work in close co-operation with BlackRock’s iShares and Alternative specialists as well as the various expertise’s and channels in the wider BlackRock organization.
The candidate reports to an experienced Vice President within the Dutch Institutional Client Business team.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist with client coverage across all relevant BlackRock products and strategies including active, indexed, ETFs and Alternative investment products.
- Maintain and cultivate our strong teamwork ethic, via intensive dialogue and cooperation with ICB team members, BlackRock’s product specialists and portfolio management departments.
- Share information internally, ensuring that servicing teams are fully supported in delivering client service levels.
- Quickly gain familiarity with industry and market developments, notably in the context of pension reform and sustainability/energy transition.
- Working collaboratively with colleagues to enhance the client experience by communicating plans, on-going client issues, and client engagement strategies.
- Support in providing periodic updates and reports on strategic and commercial plans to regional and global leadership.
- Assist in local business development initiatives, RfPs, marketing material, roadshows, and new business pitches.
- Mapping market, competitor, industry and client specific trends.
- Demonstrate proactivity in building in-depth knowledge of BlackRock’s full product set and operational capabilities.
- Maintenance of activities and relevant client information on BlackRock’s databases.
- Adhere to Compliance procedures and the required trainings/Academies.
Knowledge/Experience:
- Passionate about investment management and financial markets
- Strong preference for candidates with asset management, investment management, banking, or consulting internship experience
- Master degree will be highly preferred

- Proven ability to prioritize effectively and to take ownership. Can demonstrate a strong understanding of client issues, proactively position appropriate products, and offer timely solutions.
- Native Dutch speaker and fluent in English
