Job Description

The Senior Clinical Quality Analyst reports to the MUSC Health System Quality Manager, Data Integrity and supports the MUSC Community Providers (MCP). Under minimal supervision and in collaboration with the MCP Chief Data Officer, the Senior Clinical Quality Analyst will develop a Provider Quality Program to assess appropriate use criteria for procedures, support Ongoing Professional Practice Evaluation (OPPE), and develop provider level analytical tools to support a rapidly growing and expanding arm of MUSC Health. The Senior Clinical Quality Analyst will serve as the subject matter expert in all areas of provider level reporting for MCP to support data storytelling and decision making for MCP leadership, providers and operational stakeholders. Takes a lead role in the development of appropriate use criteria, data management and visualization. Coaches and transfers knowledge to peers and staff, maintains high professional standards, and exhibits excellent customer service skills. 

Minimum Training & Education:

A bachelor’s degree with 2-4 years’ experience in healthcare or healthcare adjacent industry.

Healthcare analytics experience, preferably in clinical/quality reporting required.

Experience with EHR-based reporting required, Epic experience preferred.

Strong problem solving, self-motivation required. SQL proficiency required.

Experience with visualization tools – PowerBI, Tableau, DAX Coding, etc. Python/Databricks experience preferred but not required.

Experience building algorithms preferred but not required. Interest in data science.

Required experience with Microsoft Office including excel, PPT.

Ability to leverage data to story tell and aid in decision making. Presentation development and public speaking skills required. Must be able to work effectively with teams across the MUSC Health System.

(I) Ability to lift/lower objects 50 lbs. from/to floor from/to 36 inches unassisted. (I) Ability to lift from 36” to overhead 25 lbs. (I) Ability to exert up to 50 lbs. of force. (F) Examples include: To transfer a 100 lb. patient that can not assist in the transfer requires 50 lbs. of force. For every 100 additional pounds, assistance will be required from another healthcare worker. 20 lbs. of force is needed to push a 400 lb. patient in a wheelchair on carpet. 25 lbs. of force is required to push a stretcher with a patient with one hand.
