The mission of the Enterprise Infrastructure & Security (EIS) team is to provide best-in-class infrastructure, data, and security services to Meta and its partners. This requires unconventional thinking and lightning-fast, nimble solutions. We build enterprise products for Meta first.
The ARC team works closely with Reality Labs Research teams to implement mid sized GPU clusters tailored to meet individual team needs. ARC is engaged at nearly every layer of the deployments beginning with hardware selection and design, all the way through deployment, configuration, and life cycle management.

As an Enterprise Systems Engineer on the Enterprise Messaging team, you will build the infrastructure for our high traffic, high visibility services. - Build, scale, and secure the Linux environment within Meta enterprise infrastructure, a heterogeneous environment containing diverse operating systems and applications.
- Apply modern engineering methodologies such as Infrastructure-as-Code, container orchestration, and software-defined storage
- Design and implement systems that are scalable, automated, monitored, and well-documented
- Find ways to leverage the scale and complexity of the larger Meta production infrastructure to solve problems for enterprise customers
- Lead incident root cause analysis through multiple infrastructure layers (compute, storage, network) and act as a final escalation point
- Provide guidance to other engineers on best practices to build mature services which are highly available, reliable, secure, and scalable.
- Help others around you move faster by identifying issues and driving them to resolution.
- Influence outcomes within your immediate team, peer engineering teams, and with cross-functional stakeholders
- BS or MS in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical discipline (or equivalent experience)
- 5+ years system engineering experience working in a Linux environment
- 5+ years experience coding in at least one of the following languages: PHP, Ruby, Python, or Go or equivalent
- 5+ years experience working with monitoring and configuration management tools such as Puppet and Chef or equivalent
- Experience automating the management of infrastructure and services
- Thorough understanding of Linux operating system internals
- Capacity to perform handle large projects simultaneously, and prioritize team roadmap and deliverables by balancing required effort with resulting impact
- Experience with job schedulers (Kubernetes, Slurm, etc)
- Prior experience supporting configuration management in a multi-region environment
- Prior experience building services
- Prior experience building PaaS or internal clouds
