Description

CPC is seeking candidates for our Food Service Worker II position in the Early Childhood Education program.

SUMMARY: Assist the Health and Nutrition Team in a variety of ways. Using standardized recipes, create appetizing and nutritious meals for children in our Early Childhood Education program. Follow the Child and Adult Care Food Program (CACFP) guidelines in all aspects of food preparation, serving, handling, and record keeping. Transport meals, supplies and other items to multiple locations throughout York County.

Requirements

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Support multiple centers with meal preparation as directed by the Food Service Coordinator.
  • Prepares breakfast, lunch, and snacks by following Child and Adult Care Food Program (CACFP) guidelines.
  • Delivers meals to classrooms and/or other centers and returns meals and containers to the central kitchen at the scheduled times.
  • Maintains appropriate forms and documentation for safe food preparation and handling, such as Production Logs, Vendor Delivery, Center Delivery form, etc.
  • Receives, unpacks, handles, and stores orders properly.
  • Cleans kitchen, storerooms, countertops, stove, oven, sink, utensils, and equipment. Follow sanitation and safety guidelines.
  • Attends all staff meetings and training as required, including cross-training to perform a number of processes within the program. May be asked to work outside of normal hours.
  • Participates in agency events, in agreement with the supervisor/management, to assist in developing, implementing, and fulfilling goals and action plans of the Community Progress Council.

EDUCATION AND OTHER REQUIREMENTS: High School Diploma or GED, and/or 1-year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.  This position is classified as safety-sensitive as provided under State guidance.


QUALIFICATIONS: ServSafe Food Handler certification preferred. (Must be obtained within one month (30 days) of hire date). Must maintain a valid and current Pennsylvania driver’s license and insurance with a clean motor vehicle registration (MVR) that satisfies current insurance requirements. Experience with Microsoft Office Suite in a Windows environment is helpful and preferred.


CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS: Department of Human Services FBI Clearance, PA State Criminal History, Childline Child Abuse Certification, and submission to the National Sex Offender Registry (NSOR) required prior to hire. A physical assessment including a tuberculosis skin test and the Child Abuse “Mandated Reporter” training due within 90-days of hire. Must have a valid driver's license, valid insurance with acceptable driving history.
