For our plant in Manor, TX we are looking for a 

Material Planner

 

Material Planner Essential Functions/Duties:

 

• It is the responsibility of the Material Planner to coordinate the scheduling of production materials and services to ensure 100% final product delivery while minimizing inventory, handling, and logistics costs in a Just-in-Time / Just-in-Sequence production environment. 
• Coordinates, monitors, and trains personnel involved in incoming goods, storage, provision of parts, and supplying materials to the production line (containers, pallets, cases, boxes, etc.) together with the disposal of the waste following the applicable rules regulations, and laws. 
• Training of personnel in IT applications following the available software tools and scanners, and in the implementation of internal instructions/rules for LOGISTICS procedures. Allocation of tasks to Material Supervisors. 
• Ensuring trouble-free production by punctual provision of parts for assembly and making available the containers required for assembly, including effective management of empty containers. 
• Taking delivery of incoming goods and making quality checks on them following standard instructions (e.g. ASN, Serial # labels), and informing the Quality department for Inspection if required. 
  Maintain dock timing for receiving & shipping. 
• Storing goods and storage space management following standard instructions. 
• Maintains 100% Final product delivery.
• Lead Contact for all Mopar requirements including answering daily tickets and maintaining a 90% plus monthly delivery rating with Mopar.
• Coordinate the logistics of both standard and non-standard inbound / outbound shipments with appropriate customs / legal documents. 
• Various audit activities (Daily- Material coverage, Layered, Supplier-shipment, Internal and external, FIFO, Daily Line side presentation /storage area, inventory check) 
  LPA’s.
• Informing, advising, supporting, and motivation of personnel. 
• Managing the working behavior and performance of personnel. 
• Administration of the Collective Agreement and Grievance procedure under the direction of the Human Resources Manager. 
• Effectively dealing with both internal and external (Customer/Supplier) complaints and ensuring proper documentation of the details, Perform and submit daily check sheets. 
• Monitoring observance of rules and regulations such as working and health and safety regulations.
• Cooperating in designing the workplace, line side feeding, etc. Interface with production employees. 
• Monitoring and Maintaining proper inventory levels. 
• Cooperation with Human Resources in dealing with personnel matters.
• Perform all duties safely and environmentally.
• Environmental Management.
• Can stop production, upon notifying the supervisor and Plant Manager for safety-related matters requiring immediate attention. 
• Take every precaution reasonable to protect the Health and Safety of the workers. 
• Ensuring compliance to and participation in IATF 16949 and CSR (Customer Specific Requirements) compliance & ISO 14001 certification.
• Ensure computer/internet access to Customer Specific Portals and department-specific required Applications.
• Can stop production, upon notifying the Supervisor and Plant Manager of quality-related nonconforming matters requiring immediate repair.
• Warehouse Management.
• Supporting the launch of ISO 45001 and 50001.
• Other duties as assigned.

Required Experience/Skills:

-    Tier1 knowledge an asset. 
-    3+ years in Materials role. 
-    APICS/ PMAC training.

-    Good Organizational skills.
-    Strong communication – Verbal & Written. 
-    Good problem solving skills – 8D / 5 Why. 
-    Working knowledge of MRO – SAP and asset. 
-    Demonstrated ability to work in a fast paced environment. 
-    IATF16949/CSR (Customer Specific Requirements) ISO 14001

-    Previous supply chain management experience in a JIT/JIS environment.
-    Familiar with esupplierconnect.com and Mopar Service Requirement 
-    Health and Safety. 
-    Previous knowledge of Chrysler material flow. 
-    IT Applications
