Divisional Accountant

Overview

This position includes a diverse immersion into all aspects of divisional accounting. The successful candidate will be responsible for inventories, month-end journal entries and analysis, assist with special projects, work with operating managers to enhance accounting processes in the mill, assist with year-end corporate filings and assist with all other finance duties.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for coordinating and accounting for inventories
• Preparation of month-end journal entries
• Perform cycle counts and physical inventory counts
• Perform month-end variance analysis
• Prepare governmental surveys
• Assist in day-to-day Accounts Payable function
• Prepare insurance files for corporate
• Work closely with internal/external auditors
• Responsible for various monthly inter-company items
• Responsible for and assist with other finance department activities

Qualifications

• 4-year accounting degree with CPA/CMA, or actively pursuing completion of exam
• Must be able to maintain a professional environment and able to maintain a high level of confidentiality
• Must be able to multi-task, solve problems and be detail oriented within a confidential environment
• Exceptional verbal and written skills are required
• Proficient use of Excel, Microsoft Word, and PowerPoint
