About the role

As a Senior Financial Analyst, the candidate will be part of a growing organization that is responsible for end-to-end reporting, analysis, and insights for Commercial FP&A focused on reporting for Bookings, Invoices, Revenue, and Royalty data. The candidate will leverage analytical skills to maintain and support all the Commercial Sales Finance reporting needs of the organization. The candidate will also assist in projects such as implementation of reporting metrics, dashboards, modeling, forecasting, and business intelligence solutions. This role will have the opportunity to showcase reporting and analytical capabilities while providing actionable insights to management and the executive leadership team.  This individual will ensure high levels of data quality, integrity, and validity. 

The ideal candidate will have a solid understanding of various business concepts including the sales cycle (ex: lead to quote, quote to order, order to cash) and underlying financial processes (ex: fundamentals of general accounting, financial statement reporting, Revenue recognition, Royalties, accruals, planning, modeling, budgeting, and forecasting).  The candidate will be a quick learner who will gain in-depth knowledge necessary to become an expert in the underlying sales data and is comfortable working with large sets of data.

The ideal candidate must be a self-starter, action driven, and an effective communicator who is comfortable juggling multiple tasks and be proficient working productively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment, while maintaining a great attitude. The candidate must have proven ability to take initiative, be agile, is solution-oriented, and can follow-through and execute on any given task.

This role will provide the ability to excel in cross-functional collaboration working with the Commercial, IT/Productivity Engineering, Business Intelligence, Legal, Finance, and Accounting teams.  The candidate must possess a high degree of integrity, while consistently driving to get things done with the highest level of accuracy. The desire to learn, constantly improve, and deliver consistent results is paramount.  Upon hiring, the candidate’s initial focus is to learn and adapt to existing processes, and eventually identify opportunities to automate and streamline processes.

About the Role:

  • Perform critical month-end activities related to Bookings, Revenue, and Royalties reconciliations, reporting, and analytics. 
  • Play a key role in the quarterly Revenue and Royalties Forecast process collaborating closely with Marketing, Legal and Corporate FP&A.
  • Prepare reporting packages for Board of Directors meetings, 10Q/10K, and Earnings Release disclosures.
  • Lead the continued development of standardized reports and data sources to monitor overall sales performance, data integrity, and other key objectives and performance indicators leveraging Oracle, Tableau, Salesforce, Microsoft Excel, and other business reporting tools.
  • Manage reporting within Oracle ERP system and data warehouse working closely with the IT/Productivity Engineering team
  • Assist in financial audit requests and SOX control deliverables on a quarterly basis.
  • Support day-to-day reporting requests and ad-hoc analysis from across the organization.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • BS / BA Degree in Finance or Accounting or equivalent experience (MBA is a plus).
  • 5 years of experience in Finance, which includes 3 or more years performing month-end/quarter-end close processes and data analysis.
  • Knowledge of US Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) as well as internal controls/Sarbanes-Oxley requirements.
  • Proven track record in business partner or Commercial or Corporate FP&A role.
  • Advanced Excel and PowerPoint skills required.
  • Experience in data management and reporting, preferably supporting FP&A.
  • Strong verbal and written communications skills required.
  • Excellent analytical, problem solving, critical thinking, and organizational skills required.
  • Ability to synthesize various independently generated data points into a cohesive analysis.
  • Demonstrated success working in a deadline driven and multi-task, fast-paced environment with a strong sense of urgency and attention to detail with the ability to work independently and balance workload effectively.

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience in the biotech or pharmaceutical industry and multinational organization is a plus.

Data science skills and experience with visualization tools (Tableau, Alteryx, Power Query, SQL, ML, R, Python, etc.) is a plus.
