This position, located in Colorado Springs, CO, plays a vital role in supporting the U.S. President, Secretary of Defense, and combatant commanders at strategic, regional, and operational levels.
Relocation assistance is not available for this position, and this role is on-site with no remote options.
Position Overview:
The Command and Control, Battle Management, and Communications (C2BMC) program serves as the central element of the Missile Defense System. It is a crucial operational system that allows the U.S. president, secretary of defense, and combatant commanders at strategic, regional, and operational levels to systematically plan ballistic missile defense operations, observe the development of the battle collectively, and dynamically manage designated networked sensors and weapon systems to accomplish global and regional mission objectives. C2BMC supports a layered missile defense capability that enables an optimized response to threats of all ranges in every phase of flight. It acts as a force multiplier by globally and regionally networking, integrating, and synchronizing autonomous sensor and weapon systems and operations to enhance performance. C2BMC is a vital component of all system ground and flight tests, which verify and exercise the capabilities of current and future missile defense systems.
Essential Functions:
- The candidate will serve as a primary Network Engineer supporting the C2BMC Program
- Will be responsible for understanding the planning, deployment, integration, and testing of upgrades to the C2BMC network at operational sites, and helping when needed
- Will be responsible for traveling to remote locations to install networks, troubleshoot issues, and give status updates to Program personnel
- Must be an effective communicator with excellent writing and presentation skills, especially using Microsoft Office products like PowerPoint and Visio
- Must excel and perform your best in a collaborative and agile environment
- The position is located in Colorado Springs, CO, but involves traveling to other work sites such as Schriever Space Force Base, Alaska, Guam, and Europe to perform job duties that include deployments
Basic Qualifications:

- A Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Computer Information Systems, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Management Information Systems, Information Technology, Mathematics, Physics, or a related field from an accredited university is preferred, along with 5 years of experience; or a Master’s degree in a related field with 3 years of relevant work experience; or 9 years of relevant experience may be considered as an alternative to a degree
- Applicants must hold a current, active in-scope DoD-issued Secret security clearance at the time of application, which is required to start with the ability to obtain Top Secret clearance
- A DoD 8140 certification at IAT Level II or higher (Security+, GSEC, SCNP, SSCP, CISSP, CISA, GSE, SCNA, etc.) is required to start
- Must know about network design, development, and testing methodologies
- Must understand the OSI Model, TCP/IP, routing protocols BGP and OSPF
- Must possess skills in network traffic analysis, diagnostics, and troubleshooting
- Must have firewall expertise with Juniper, Fortinet, and Palo Alto
- Must be familiar with:
- UDP multicast
- SONET
- MSPP
- VLANs
