Clinical Technician 1 - Medical Unit, Inova Loudoun Hospital (Full time, Night Shift)

As a Clinical Technician 1, you will assist in the delivery of direct patient care under the supervision of the Registered Nurse. To help achieve our mission, you will communicate and collaborate with care team members to implement the plan of care to meet individualized and developmental patient care outcomes. Partnering with the Registered Nurse to create a professional development plan to gain the necessary skills to deliver up to date patient care is of vital importance. Your ability to utilize information to continuously improve patient care and practice while enhancing outcomes is required.

• Provides basic activities of daily living nursing care (eg. bathing, feeding) and measurement of vital signs and intake/output.
• Demonstrates competency in all required clinical skills and technologies in accordance with IHS policies and procedures.
• Completes assigned patient duties within the time frame established.
• Demonstrates knowledge of growth and development in providing care for the patient population assigned.
• Completes necessary documentation accurately each shift. Reinforces discharge teaching and home care skills.
• Communicates patient progress toward desired outcomes to the Registered Nurse.
• Communicates changes in patient status to the Registered Nurse in a timely manner.
• Identifies own learning needs/goals based on timely self-evaluation.
• Makes progress/meets goals set from the previous year.
• Attends educational and training opportunities.
• Maintains own Employee Continuing Education Record and completes all annual competency reviews.
• Describes the unit's quality improvement activities, trends, and goals.
• Participates actively in the quality improvement initiatives.
• Reports variances in practice in accordance with IHS policy and procedures.

Shift: Night Shift
Schedule: Full time
Training: Ideal candidate must be able to attend a 6 week training course

JOB REQUIREMENTS

• Experience: Healthcare experience preferred.
• Education: High School graduate or equivalent.
• Certification: BLS within 90 days of hire (from the American Heart Association).
• Training: Candidate must be able to attend a 6 week training orientation upon hire.
