About the role

Description

 A postdoctoral training position is available in the laboratory of Dr. Philipp Scherer [Philipp Scherer, Ph.D. - Faculty Profile - UT Southwestern], in the Touchstone Diabetes Center at UT Southwestern Medical Center to study how metabolic and immune pathways intersect in adipose tissue biology. Our laboratory [Scherer Lab | Touchstone Diabetes Center.org] has several exciting projects related to the different levels of adipocyte physiology focusing on the identification and physiological characterization of adipocyte-specific gene products and the elucidation of pathways that are an integral part of the complex set of reactions that drive adipogenesis.

Qualifications

Candidates must hold a recent Ph.D. and/or M.D. degree. Experience in integrated biomedical sciences, immunometabolism and adipose tissue biology leading to publication in peer-reviewed journals is recommended.
