Operating Technician Lead

This position is an essential part of Sherwin’s manufacturing team. They assist the Operations Manager and/or Production Supervisor in maintaining all standards in accordance with safety, quality, inventory, and productivity levels while contributing to the safe and efficient production of consistently high-quality products according to the production plan and customer requirements as an operator. This position performs various manufacturing tasks as assigned and is responsible for maintaining a safe, clean, and productive working environment.
Non-COS Shift: Monday - Friday 8:00am - 4:30pm
- Support shift set-up including scheduling, and production planning
- Monitor and report on productivity and other relevant shift activity
- Contribute ideas to improve or optimize production procedures
- Abide by and promote all company safety and quality expectations
- Operate paint making control systems and manufacturing equipment in an efficient and safe manner
- Monitor raw materials and finished goods for quality
- Comply with policies and standard operating procedures
- Keep equipment logs, perform minor repairs, and report breakdowns in a timely manner
- Maintain production records and reporting as required
- Collaborate with other departments to complete production orders on time
- Monitor and replenish inventory of parts and supplies
- Provide technical support and training to other team members
- Contribute ideas to improve or optimize manufacturing procedures
- Keep tools, equipment, and work environment clean and organized daily
- Must be at least eighteen (18) years of age
- Must be legally authorized to work in the country of employment without needing sponsorship for employment work visa status now or in the future
- Must have at least one (1) year of work experience operating machinery in a manufacturing and/or distribution environment
- Have at least one (1) year of experience in leadership role(s), supervising others, or leading teams
- Have completed formal training in and/or have at least one (1) year of work experience applying continuous improvement tools such as Six Sigma, 5-S, Lean Manufacturing, Transactional Lean, etc.
- Have at least three (3) years of experience in a manufacturing and/or distribution environment
- Have an Associate degree or higher
