Contract: Senior Software Engineer, Search Backend

This is an engagement through Upwork’s Hybrid Workforce Solutions (HWS) Team. Our Hybrid Workforce Solutions Team is a global group of professionals that support Upwork’s business. Our HWS team members are located all over the world.

Work/Project Scope: 

• Work independently and with minimal supervision
• Communicate frequently and effectively in English
• Deliver robust and high-quality code with unit tests
• Overlap for at least 3 hours a day with the Upwork team in California
• Coordinate with upstream/downstream teams

Must-Have Requirements:  

• Strong Java skills
• Understanding of RESTful API
• Knowledge of CI/CD
• Indexing experience with Apache Solr or/and Elasticsearch or/and OpenSearch is preferred
