Reporting to the Director of Pharmacy Services at UCLA Santa Monica Hospital, you will lead the daily clinical pharmacy operations while ensuring compliance with regulatory, accreditation, and institutional standards. You will provide direct supervision and mentorship to pharmacists and pharmacy technicians, oversee staffing and performance development, and maintain optimal workflow and service delivery.

You will also play a pivotal role in leading interdisciplinary initiatives focused on medication safety, formulary management, and pharmacy practice advancement. This role serves as a key liaison between pharmacy, nursing, and medical staff—aligning therapeutic strategies, resolving medication-related concerns, and ensuring the delivery of high-quality pharmaceutical care across the hospital.

 

Activities will include:

  • Supervising and mentoring pharmacists and pharmacy technicians, including performance evaluations, scheduling, and training
  • Managing daily clinical pharmacy services and ensuring regulatory and policy compliance
  • Participating in and leading interdisciplinary committees focused on medication safety, clinical initiatives, and formulary optimization
  • Collaborating with medical and nursing staff to resolve medication issues and align therapeutic strategies
  • Overseeing and supporting educational programs such as the pharmacy residency, student training, and preceptor development
  • Analyzing medication safety trends and implementing risk-reduction strategies
  • Driving continuous improvement in pharmacy operations and clinical service delivery
