Brief Overview:

As a key member of Commercial and Growth leadership team with high visibility and high impact you will play a pivotal role as Amwell’s Commercial team evolves, innovates and develops.

Specifically, the Vice President, Commercial Operations will:

Core Responsibilities:

  • Gain an appreciation for and understanding of the history and culture of Amwell, as well as its short and long-term strategy.
  • Build, lead and coach a newly established and growing sales and marketing operations team.
  • Develop and maintain relationships throughout Amwell to understand ongoing operations and strategic opportunities, challenges, and achievements. Use this knowledge to help inform Marketing and Sales opportunities.
  • Recommend & implement a world class Martech and Analytics Platform and a Sales Force Operational Model to support an expansive Sales organization.
  • Lead the strategy for all sales and marketing related operational and analytics software and manage vendor relationships
  • Support the marketing team through reporting and data analysis that tracks marketing activity performance to enable data-driven decisions. Developing closed loop reporting on B2B sales will be critical to support lead generation and inform marketing expenditures.
  • Partner with operations on sales and marketing reporting to ensure leaders have the right data and tools to inform business decisions.
  • Manage and have oversight of the Marketing and Sales budgets--- manage operations budget in an effective manner, providing accurate forecasts and recommendations for allocation of budget based on marketing and sales OKRs.
  • Identify opportunities to drive day-to-day operational efficiencies
  • Lead cross-department processes for the marketing and sales organization including annual planning process, budget alignment, marketing and sales objectives, OKR reviews
  • Collaborate with a variety of internal and external teams to achieve desired results, providing subject matter expertise, leadership, and influence to gain alignment and support across the organization identifying areas for process improvement, operational efficiencies, industry best practices, etc.
  • Develop & manage program-specific dashboards to help assess business performance at consistent and regular intervals.
  • Act as subject matter expert and spokesperson for the Marketing and Sales Operations group, communicating and presenting to senior leadership team on a variety of topics including sales pipeline, revenue bookings, marketing campagin effectiveness etc.
  • Work with CRM partners to monitor database health and plan data initiatives, including segmentation and analysis, data augmentation from third-party tools and online sources.
  • Provide effective guidance and coaching in a motivating, educational and positive manner.
  • Select the right external agencies and freelancers, negotiating the financial responsibilities of all production expenses.
  • Manage third party data relationships to support sales and marketing needs

Qualifications:

  • Experience in leading and directing a marketing and/or sales services function within a mid-to large organization.
  • Experience managing a mid-sized professional team through challenges to achieve success on goals.
  • Proven ability to work in a rapidly changing, high-growth environment and to manage multiple and competing work priorities, demands, and changes.
  • Ability to develop strong, collaborative working relationships with cross-functional teams and external resources.
  • Confident decision-maker with excellent presence; self-starter, high energy/drive and results-oriented; combines tenacious approach with a relentlessly positive attitude.
