OVERVIEW:

The Department of Administrative and Financial Services (DAFS) Office of Information Technology provides information technology support to over 13,000 employees.  MaineIT oversees large-scale enterprise applications that support the critical and diverse business needs of the State of Maine and its agencies. 

MaineIT is seeking a qualified and skilled individual who is self-motivated to part of  the extended management team for the Applications Support team supporting MaineDOT and  who will represent our C.A.R.E. values in all that they do.  At MaineIT we:

ABOUT THE JOB DETAILS:     

This position will be focused on managing the IT Planning Group within our MaineIT team that supports MaineDOT in the acquisition of IT Applications and Services.  This role requires a strong understanding of both IT and procurement processes, as well as the ability to effectively manage a team.  Although we are in a team environment it is expected that you will be able to work independently to trouble shoot issues while leading the analysis, specification, design and implementation phases of the system engineering lifecycle.  An ability to communicate complex technical issues effectively both verbally and in writing is also important.

Hybrid Work Opportunity – This position is a hybrid remote/onsite position. The onsite location is in Augusta, Maine and the remote location must be within the state of Maine.

  • You will have an opportunity to work with a dedicated team of software developers and key stakeholders in MaineDOT to analyze issues and design solutions which will result in projects of various sizes.
  • You will participate in technology acquisitions and implementations of new hosted systems. MaineDOT uses a wide variety of technology in the office, on the roadway infrastructure, in laboratories, and in the field to support infrastructure construction planning and execution, transportation systems operations and maintenance, and business management.
