The Position:

The Cloud Network Engineer role will be responsible for daily operational support of our private cloud network platforms.  This role will be located in Clayton, NC and be a member of the newly-formed Global Network Operations Center.  

 

Relationships:

This position reports to the Manager, NAO Infrastructure and will work closely with members of the North America Infrastructure team and C&CI colleagues in Denmark, Poland and India. Additional internal stakeholders may include IT System Managers, Global Security Organization, Network, Security, Application, and user related activities. External stakeholders include service providers for support of hosted infrastructure, including Accenture and Aeven. You will exhibit a global mindset and approach in your work.

 

 

Essential Functions:

Provides Technology Leadership, Support and Service:

• Fosters and develops an environment of open and honest communication to build strong partnerships and positive perception of the C&CI organization

Analyze And Fulfills Business Needs:

• Ensures that stakeholders’ requirements are identified and met, commitments are delivered upon and that stakeholders receive quality support services

Develops And Maintains Systems, Applications, and Infrastructure:

• Monitors system performance and capacity of cloud and on-premises environments to proactively avoid issues and work towards continuous improvement
• Recommends, evaluates, and implements new technologies (e.g., cloud edge computing, Virtual Private Cloud) to ensure efficacy and alignment with current and long term business goals
• Champions best practices within functional area to enhance IT solutions and improve processes and results.
• Implement, and support hardware and software infrastructure using the following service models: Public Cloud, on-premises, co-location data center, managed service, SaaS, PaaS, IaaS, DaaS, and hybrid implementations
• Work with team members to automate engineering tasks, streamline processes and perform standard administration functions as needed
• Provides Tier 2 operational support for hardware and software problems associated Cloud Data Center systems architecture and its components
• Follows IT security best practices, policies, and procedures in support of IT security programs
• Manages changes, upgrades, and the introduction of new technologies to the production environment
• Implement hybrid and multi-cloud interconnectivity between public and private cloud environments
• Installs and maintains network hardware and software for public and private cloud instances

Infrastructure Development and Operation:

• Excellent troubleshooting skills with ability to identify and implement solutions
• Assists in the preparation of standards and documentation consistent with departmental guidelines

• Assists in and evaluates results of audits and assessments; participates in remediation; ensures systems meet requirements of risk and compliance practices
• Adhere to qualification SOPs to ensure industry compliance, including CFR, GxP; apply ITSM & qualification management system (QMS) best practices as needed
