Commercial/Risk Underwriter

Job Purpose: XoL underwriting includes elements of Commercial Underwriting, Relationship Management and Risk Underwriting (some experience in at least one of these areas is preferred). The successful candidate will focus on Portfolio Management to grow and maintain a profitable portfolio for Allianz Trade XoL Americas.
 

Key Responsibilities:
Commercial underwriting & relationship management

• Utilizing commercial underwriting guidelines, underwrite and negotiate policies for renewals, according to our retention and profitability objectives.
• Provide excellent service to internal and external customers.
• Build close relationships with a portfolio of brokers.
• Drive revenue and growth goals.
• Work independently on other tasks assigned.

Risk underwriting & credit analysis

• Underwrite, review and monitor buyer credit limit requests for our clients and prospects, within individual authority levels and respecting target response times.
• Contribute to the overall profitability of our portfolio.
• Assess and validate a client’s credit management procedures.

Key Experience:

• Good business and commercial awareness and experience of credit or financial assessment.
• Some formal credit training program would be useful.
• Experience in trade credit insurance, or credit management

Key Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in economics, finance or related discipline – Advanced Degree or MBA preferred.
• At least 2 years relevant working experience, for example in credit insurance, finance or credit management
