Junior Computer Systems Analysis

Responsibilities

 

Our IRS program in New Carrollton, MD or Chamblee, GA is looking for a Junior Computer Systems Analyst.. This position is remote but must be within the local DMV or Atlanta area.  The successful candidate will be part of Peraton’s Citizen Security and Public Services sector. The qualified individual is responsible for identifying systems vulnerabilities, vulnerability mitigation and patching and application troubleshooting when issues from applied vulnerabilities cause instability or outages.

 

What you will do:

 

• Identifies high risk changes before they are applied and engages vendors to safely mitigate an issue with minimal customer impact
• Parses Splunk reports and develops approach for mitigating findings
• Documents technical processes and procedures
• Thorough understanding of Windows Server operating system for both 2012 R2 and 2019
• Experience with process migration and cloud transitions

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

 

• Bachelor’s Degree and 2 years of experience or a MS/MA; Additional years of experience maybe accepted in lieu of the degree
• Experience in application and operating system patching
• CVE investigation & remediation testing experience
• Active Directory GPO experience
• Experience working with Splunk/Nessus/Qualys/Symantec/Bigfix data and reports
• Windows Environment experience
• US Citizen or Green Card holder (with at least 3 years of US residency)
• Ability to obtain and maintain an IRS MBI clearance

 

Preferred Qualifications:

 

• Powershell scripting experience
• Scripting / coding experience (windows/linux)
• PKI/encryption experience
• RHCE (RedHat Linux Certified Engineer) experience
• MCSE (Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer) certification
• IPv6 experience
• Active MBI clearance is desired
• Federal contracting experience is plus
• Security+ certified or equivalent Security certificate

Target Salary Range

$66,000 - $106,000. This represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.
