The Opportunity
- Commercial Fleet Card Sales Manager at a growth-oriented energy company.
- Responsible for driving growth of the company’s Fleet Card Program across Hawaiʻi, with a primary focus on Oʻahu and expansion into neighbor island markets (Maui, Hawaiʻi Island, Kauaʻi).
- Develops and manages commercial fleet relationships including construction firms, trucking companies, tour operators, rental fleets, government agencies, utilities, marine operators, and local businesses.
- Responsible to increase fuel gallons, grow active fleet card accounts, and strengthen brand loyalty across the company’s retail fueling network.
- This role requires strong relationship-building skills, knowledge of Hawaiʻi’s business community, and the ability to execute consultative B2B sales strategies in a geographically unique market.
- Reporting to the Vice President of Hawaii Retail.
Key activities include:
Business Development & Market Growth
- Prospect and acquire new fleet accounts across construction, transportation, hospitality, agriculture, marine, and public sector segments.
- Develop territory plans focused on high-volume fueling corridors. (e.g., Kapolei/West Oʻahu industrial areas, Honolulu urban core, Kahului, Kona).
- Build relationships with local business owners, fleet managers, and procurement officers.
- Actively participate in local trade organizations.(e.g., contractors associations, chamber events, transportation groups).
- Conduct on-site visits to fleet yards and job sites.
Fleet Card Program Sales & Marketing
- Present the value of the Fleet Card Program including:
- Network coverage across Hawaiʻi.
- Fuel rebates and volume incentives.
- Spend controls and driver restrictions.
- Online reporting and expense management tools.
- Fraud protection and consolidated billing.
- Partner with Marketing to execute local campaigns promoting fleet enrollment.
- Identify co-branding or promotional opportunities aligned with island businesses.
Account Management & Retention
- Manage an assigned portfolio of fleet accounts to increase gallons and card utilization.
- Conduct quarterly business reviews with top accounts.
- Identify cross-sell opportunities (diesel, premium fuels, lubricants, DEF if applicable).
- Ensure timely resolution of billing, service, or network issues.
- Maintain high customer retention in a competitive fuel pricing environment.
Performance & Reporting
- Track and report:
- New fleet accounts.
- Active fleet cards.
- Incremental gallons tied to fleet program.
- Gross margin contribution.
- Customer retention rate.
- Maintain CRM pipeline and accurate sales forecasting.
- Collaborate with operations to ensure site readiness for fleet customers (e.g., diesel lane access, high-flow pumps).
