Responsibilities
- Work on cutting edge infrastructure system innovations by researching, designing, and implementing the company’s critical infrastructure systems, including but not limited to compute, storage, database, and networking.
- Research on next generation embedded storage engine with higher performance, better Quality of Service (QoS) optimization, and cost-effectiveness.
- Design, engineer, and support new, critical infrastructure storage systems including high performance storage and cold storage.
- Work with ASIC design team to design in-house NVMe SSD controller architecture.
- Design and develop in house SSD controller’s Firmware architecture, software framework implementation, and performance optimization.
- Design and develop KV based storage engine software.
- Lead the major design and architecture of software systems as well as promoting the best practices across the company.
- Define the infrastructure evolution strategy and oversee the execution based on the company's business, industry trends, and technology stack.
- Write papers and patent applications.

Qualifications

Must have a Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering (any), Information Technology, Machine Learning, Data Science, Statistics, Mathematics, or a related quantitative field, and 5 years of related work and/or research experience; OR a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering (any), Information Technology, Machine Learning, Data Science, Statistics, Mathematics, or a related quantitative field, and 7 years of related work and/or research experience, out of which 5 years must be post-bachelor’s, progressive related work and/or research experience.

Of the required experience, must have 5 years of experience in each of the following:
- Storage engine architecture design and development including Software framework design;
- Critical algorithm design including the following: (1) mapping information compression; (2) Garbage collection policy, and (3) performance or Quality of Service (QoS) optimization;
- Solid State Drive (SSD) Flash Translation Layer (FTL) algorithm design and development;
- SSD Firmware design and development including SATA based SSD and NVMe based SSD; and
- SSD controller Firmware architecture design, FPGA validation and debugging, and performance validation and tuning.

Type: Full time, 40 hours/week
Location: San Jose, CA
Salary Range: $283442 - $410000 per year
