Job Description
At TIDAL, we’re focused on economic empowerment for artists, and a foundational element is how artists are paid. We are looking for a seasoned Data Analytics manager to lead our newly-formed Royalties Analytics function within TIDAL’s Royalties team. In this role, you’ll be defining our Analytics roadmap, aligning data structures, and ensuring that Royalties data becomes an asset for TIDAL and its Artists. You will work closely with engineering, business affairs & licensing, analytics, artist product, and finance functions to build these products and processes. You will be expected to deeply understand and manage requirements, manage and influence stakeholders, and to effectively prioritize opportunities and resources.
As an early member of this Royalties Analytics team, you will lead and scale the function, including defining best practices and contributing to TIDAL’s data community. This role reports to the Royalties Lead.
This role is remote-friendly (U.S. only).
You Will:
Lead the Royalties Analytics function that ensures Royalties data becomes an asset to both TIDAL and its artists
- Grow the team and foster a culture of leading with data-driven insights and decision making
- Partner with various stakeholders to drive product decisions
Use artist and fan data insights to inform features and development related to streaming and other payouts
Reflect an understanding and empathy for artists as well as other key players in the music creation and distribution ecosystem, with a passion for improving their economic outcomes
- Expected to operate at the 1000-ft level while also getting hands on with data
Qualifications
You Have:
- 8+ years of Data Analytics experience or related/equivalent experience
- 2+ years of experience in people management with a track record of building high-performance teams and growing talent
- Nimble with SQL, Looker, Tableau, Python, and other analytics tools
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills with the ability to explain technical data to a variety of stakeholders across the company
- Experience leading cross-functional projects that depend on the contributions of others in multiple disciplines
- Ability to tell compelling stories with data and drive key decisions for the product
- Excellent organization skills, attention to detail and strategic mindset
Even better:
- Experience in royalties, music, entertainment, or licensing
- Familiarity with developments in the creator economy
Additional Information
Block takes a market-based approach to pay, and pay may vary depending on your location. U.S. locations are categorized into one of four zones based on a cost of labor index for that geographic area. The successful candidate’s starting pay will be determined based on job-related skills, experience, qualifications, work location, and market conditions. These ranges may be modified in the future.
Zone A: USD $167,300 - USD $204,500
Zone B: USD $155,600 - USD $190,200
Zone C: USD $147,200 - USD $180,000
Zone D: USD $138,900 - USD $169,700
