Our team in Arden Hills, MN is searching for a Senior Manufacturing Engineering Supervisor to join their team. This supervisor be responsible for supervising, leading, and providing technical direction to a group of technicians and engineers within a manufacturing environment. He/she/they will be responsible for ensuring proper support for manufacturing processes including: staffing levels, proper escalation of issues, and mentorship through challenges. 

 

Your Responsibilities Will Include: 

  • Supervise, coach, mentor, and lead a diverse team of technicians and/or entry-level engineers 

  • Assists manager(s) in providing guidance and training to staff, developing career goals, motivating individuals to achieve results, and maintaining a high-quality staff  

  • Establish and support career development plans for direct reports. 

  • Determine the appropriate staffing and resource plans based on assessed product or manufacturing inputs 

  • Manage daily issues and projects to drive resolution on manufacturing line 

  • Drive standard manufacturing and Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE)-oriented metrics: yield, downtime/uptime, changeover cycle time (e.g. SMED) 

  • Work with manager to establish department goals, objectives, and budgets 

  • Track and manage a budget for equipment maintenance related activities  

  • Prioritize and manage execution of multiple projects that deliver on departmental and/or site goals 

  • Ensure quality system policies and processes are followed 

  • Improve operational performance via data analysis and data collection using multiple sources 

  • Assist in hiring processes and retaining a high performing team 

  • Onsite work mode primarily with hybrid flexibility. May travel up to 10%. 
      

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or a related field

  • 3+ years of manufacturing experience

  • Proven understanding of manufacturing problem solving

  • Experience with process improvement tools such as DMAIC and production flow tools such as LEAN manufacturing. 

  • Experience with Microsoft Suite products 

 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in the medical device industry, or other highly regulated field 

  • Hands-on technical/mechanical experience and aptitude 

  • Experience with injection molding and/or working in a high-volume component manufacturing environment 

  • Supervisory experience 

  • Ability to communicate effectively at all levels of the organization
