Job Summary:
The Production Supervisor – Hot Shop is responsible for achieving short and long term goal objectives for the assigned department within Howmet Savannah Operations. This position is a multi-dimensional role that requires one to be tactical in producing our parts safely, while maintaining high quality levels and low cost. This position will report to the Forge Operations Manager and will be responsible for supervising the Conventional Forge, Isothermal Forge, and Heat Treat Departments.
Essential Functions:

- Professionally and consistently maintains the safety, health, and environmental policies and procedures set by Howmet Aerospace.
- Providing subject matter knowledge on forging/heat treating principles related to titanium and nickel alloys for the aerospace industry.
- Train operators to successfully achieve the skill level necessary to produce forged products that meet conforming dimensional characteristics to achieve financial cost targets.
- Building teams that consistently achieve daily production objectives: Throughput, Inventory, and Operating Expense.
- Cross training of team members to ensure that the team is well trained and flexible to support shifts in business needs.
- Maintaining 100%-part traceability in all areas of responsibility.
- Supporting compliance with environmental, health, and safety policies; this involves developing, tracking and maintaining production standards for safety, efficiencies, part quality, and housekeeping (6S).
- Performing general administrative duties such as timecards, absentee reporting, accident reports, personnel issues, disciplinary procedures, etc.
- Prepares reports, analyzes data, and makes recommendations for improving plant operations and solving maintenance-related problems.
- Supervises shift personnel and develops subordinates through mentoring, training and routine feedback.
- Assists with hiring of personnel and identifies human capital needs to management.
- Conducts hourly employee reviews based on job descriptions to measure competency, knowledge, and contributions to the department.

Work Location/Environmental Requirements:
Nickel and titanium manufacturing facility. Exposure to: moving mechanical parts; wet and/or humid conditions; fumes or airborne particles; toxic or caustic chemicals; extreme cold, extreme heat, vibration; loud noise level.

Basic Qualifications:
- Minimum of 2 years’ experience in manufacturing.
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
