Position Overview

The position will serve as Secretary to the Health Care Unit Administrator.  Working closely with facility health care unit administration, this position will keyboard a variety of complex documents, maintain filing systems, and serve as a receptionist. This position requires confidentiality, accuracy, and a strict attention to detail. A background in health care, as well as a working knowledge of medical and/or terminology, would be a plus. The ideal candidate would be a self-motivated, task oriented, and organized individual with strong interpersonal and communication skills. We are looking for an energetic and dedicated candidate that is seeking to be an integral part of our health care team; a candidate that can be trusted to display professionalism,

Essential Functions

  • Serves as secretary to the Health Care Unit Administrator.
  • Keyboards complex charts, statistical reports, documents, forms, and memos including medical and psychological terminology.
  • Serves as Health Care Unit receptionist.
  • Maintains manuals such as Administrative Directives, Institutional Directions, Procedures and ACA, and updates as needed.
  • Compiles and gathers statistics and information for Health Care Unit Monthly Report.
  • Performs other duties as required or assigned which are reasonably within the scope of the duties enumerated above.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Requires knowledge, skill, and mental development equivalent to the completion of high school AND two (2) years of office experience.
  • Requires the ability to keyboard accurately at 45 wpm.
