- Base Salary of $108,577 plus 17% Superannuation
About the opportunity
The Faculty of Medicine and Health Education Support team is seeking a Senior Education Support Officer (Clinical) to support the provision of a broad range of educational support services to academic and teaching staff, in the delivery of the Doctor of Medicine (MD) Program at Concord Clinical School.
The position requires you to be on site at Concord Clinical School, Concord Repatriation General Hospital (CRGH) a minimum of 4 days per week. Hybrid options will be decided with your manager if you are successful in this position.
Your key responsibilities will be to:
- Leading, planning and managing the work of the Concord Clinical School Education Support Team, providing effective supervision, line management guidance and support to direct reports including feedback, coaching and support for individual performance, career and talent development to build an effective high performing team.
- Coordinate and deliver operational support for clinical teaching activities, including support of local management of assessment and examination delivery, in line with School and Faculty requirements, and in accordance with university policy and procedures.
- Coordinate and provide administrative support for complex timetabling and clinical education scheduling activities at Concord Clinical School, including related logistical management and communication with students, staff and other relevant stakeholders
- Provides effective support to the Academic Leaders in Education at the Concord Clinical School, building strong stakeholder relationships with academics and clinicians within the Sydney Local Health District.
- Actively contribute to the building of curriculum and supports improvements to course delivery on an ongoing basis.
About you
To be successful in this role, you have:
- sound experience in the supervision, training, mentoring and performance management of staff; and experience managing and resolving a diverse range of HR issues
- the ability to deliver education services with operational agility, mindful of the broader faculty context and demonstrating an appreciation and readiness to adapt your approach in response to changing business needs
- the ability to work both independently and as part of a team, together with strong problem-solving skills and the ability to use initiative and exercise sound judgement, and the ability to prioritize workload during busy periods
- experience working in a tertiary environment with working knowledge of using Learning Management Systems, together with sound understanding of timetabling/rostering of student activities
- demonstrate advanced proficiency in various computer applications including but not limited to Microsoft 365 with the ability to leverage technology effectively to streamline processes and enhance productivity.
- effective and tactful communication skills (both verbal and written) with excellent client focus and the ability to build partnerships with internal and external colleagues and partners and between the faculty, precinct and school teams
- extensive knowledge of university policies and procedures and administrative processes within a tertiary environment and health environment.
Australian Temporary Residents currently employed at the University of Sydney may be considered for a fixed term contract for the length of their visa, depending on the requirements of the hiring area and the reasons for the position.
