The Store Warehouse Inventory Specialist will be responsible for the overall day-to-day operations of Gordon Food Service's construction materials warehouses. Manages all warehouse receiving, inventory control, and outbound logistics associated with the 420 Grand Rapids Warehouse and Trotwood Facility Storage. Performs facility/construction material procurement as assigned.
What you will do:
Responsible for the day-to-day operation of the 420 50th St and Trotwood Facility Warehouses, shipping, receiving, and inventory control.
Performs quarterly visits to the Trotwood, OH, storage facility to ensure operational compliance and efficiency.
Oversees and trains contracted hourly part-time warehouse labor as needed.
Receives, stocks, and handles LTL, Common Carrier, and UPS shipments, periodically using a forklift.
Checks goods received for damage and against bills of lading or purchase orders.
Place materials, supplies, and other received goods on designated shelves, racks or floor locations.
Sorts, counts, and checks received items.
Maintains required clerical records.
Reports, investigates, and solves discrepancies with inventory count.
Checks and verifies the daily rotation of specified items.
Drives hi-lo or hand-pallet jack to move stacks of totes or pallets.
Communicates with other members of the warehouse, procurement, and facility teams regarding project details and specific instructions, and submits time sheets for projects.
Completes housekeeping activities daily and maintains a clean, neat, and safe work area. This includes disposal of packaging and cartons, sweeping, storage of extra material, and clean-up of supplies.
Performs Construction/Facility departments procurement as assigned.
What we need from you:
High School Diploma (or equivalent) plus 5 years of warehouse related work experience.
Powered Industrial Vehicle (PIV) certification must be obtained upon hire and maintained during employment.
Knowledge of spreadsheet, word processing, presentation, email and internet software applications.
Travel Requirements: Ability to travel to different locations as needed. Will travel to the Trotwood, OH, storage facility once a quarter.
