Job Summary
Assists in the daily operation of radiation therapy services. Interacts with the physician and all members of the office staff to ensure patients are treated in a timely manner. Communicates effectively and supports leadership in attaining department goals.Does this position require Patient Care? Yes
Essential Functions
- Takes radiographs, appropriate measurements, tattoos the patient, records all treatment parameters in chart, completed digital setup pages and completes MOSAIQ fields as needed.
- Insert patient IV’s for Contrast delivery according to prescribed protocols.
- Discusses treatment procedure and possible reactions with patient and assures his/her understanding.
- Follows established department policy for acquiring digital portal images or performs other localization techniques to verify accurate patient treatment position.
- Performs daily quality assurance checks on treatment delivery systems per protocol.
Qualifications
Education
Associate's Degree Radiation Therapy required or Bachelor's Degree Radiation Therapy preferred

Licenses and Credentials
Radiation Therapist [State License]
Basic Life Support [BLS Certification]
Radiation Therapy [ARRT-T] - American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) preferred
Experience
Continuous clinical experience 3-5 years required
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Demonstrate efficient knowledge of all equipment operation, tools and procedures specific to assigned area, and effectively troubleshoot issues as they arise.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective interpersonal professional relationships with physicians, management, peers, patients, and their families.
- Demonstrate strong customer service skills, including the ability to use appropriate judgment, independent thinking and creativity when resolving issues and conflict.
- Must have to ability to handle sensitive and confidential patient information.
- Must be proficient in the use of the Radiation Oncology Information Systems and software and Hospital Information Systems that integrate with the Department of Radiation Oncology, including, but not limited to: ARIA, EPIC, ExacTrac, Eclipse.
