Position Summary:
The Administrative Assistant II/Bilingual Liaison (Spanish) will provide secretarial support for various district student services functions.
Pay Classification:
- Position code A110

- Salary Range: $18.22 - $31.04 per hour
General Position Duties
- Develop and assemble a variety of correspondence
- Use of Microsoft Office and Google software with an emphasis on Excel, Word, Google Docs, and Google Sheets
- Answer incoming telephone calls; determine the purpose of the call and provide information directly or refer calls to proper person or office
- Must be familiar with district policies/procedures
Position Duties Specific to Student Services/ Bilingual Liaison (Spanish)
- Support administrators, staff, and families with the online student enrollment system.
- Provide accurate meaning-for-meaning interpretation services between students, parents, and school staff as it relates to Student Services
- Provide technical/phone support for centralized enrollment processes for the district.
- Use of enrollment software with the ability to configure features, accurately enter data, and process information with a high degree of accuracy.
- Effectively address and resolve student enrollment and residency related challenges and concerns.
- Effectively review and process enrollment related documentation.
- Spanish translation of written documents, oral conversations, etc.
- Renders clear and exact translations of written materials
- Handles three-way interpretations between Student Services Staff and parents
- Correspond with school staff and/or parents regarding enrollment and/or residency issues
- Coordinate residency investigations with schools staff and/or residency officer
- Review affidavits of residency for accuracy prior to director approval
- Generate communication related to residency
- Other duties as assigned
Organizational Relationships:
- Reports to Assistant Superintendent of Student Services
Desired Qualifications:
- Proficient with the following software: Google Docs, Google Sheet, Microsoft Excel, and MicroSoft Word
Working Hours/Conditions:
- 12 month/260 day position. Click here to view the work calendar.
- Typical position hours will be from Ā 8:00 to 4:30 p.m. but may need to be adjusted based on student enrollment scheduling.
Required Position Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalency and three years of interpreting/translating experience; or equivalent combination of training and experience.
- Demonstrated possession of the competencies necessary to perform the work.
