POSITION PURPOSE:Security is responsible for monitoring the property premises to ensure safety of the property and its tenants.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Patrols premises to prevent and detect signs of intrusion and ensure security of doors, windows and gates.
- Responds to alarms and investigates disturbances.
- Notifies authorities such as fire or police department in cases of emergency (fire or the presence of unauthorized persons).
- Responsible for writing daily reports of activities and irregularities including but not limited to vehicles stickered, burned-out lighting in common areas, equipment or property damage, theft, presence of unauthorized persons, accidents or injuries and other unusual occurrences.
- Circulate among visitors, residents, vendors and employees to ensure order and protect property.
- Assist with backend operations involving various security and camera systems (such as Salto, Avigilon/OpenPath, and LVC.)
- Coordinates updates, trainings, and maintains vendor relationship(s).
- Coordinate with security companies for courtesy patrols, emergency services, and lockout responses.
- Identify and address security concerns, including ensuring that no unauthorized individuals reside in restricted spaces.
- Provide support to the maintenance team with various building upkeep tasks as needed and assists with any maintenance emergencies as needed.
NON-ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- May be required to work weekends or after normal scheduled work hours.
- Perform any additional duties as assigned.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS: (including certification, licenses, etc.)
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED) and/or a minimum of one year’s experience as a property security guard.
- MS Office including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook
- Licensed security certification
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
- Experience with security systems such as Salto, Avigilon/OpenPath, and surveillance cameras (preferred).
- Strong communication skills to liaise with authorities and security personnel.
- Ability to conduct security checks and respond to emergencies effectively.
- Basic knowledge of building maintenance and willingness to assist the maintenance team.
- Attention to detail and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
- Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence and memos.
- Ability to write simple correspondence and/or reports.
- Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from tenants, management and members of law enforcement, etc.
- Ability to apply common-sense understanding to carry out instructions.
- Ability to solve practical problems.
- Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts to draw valid conclusions.
