The Director of Human Resources, West Coast will act as a business partner to their region’s Momofuku restaurants. The role works with our Regional and Home Base teams to drive our HR, culture and operational initiatives within their region. This position reports to the VP of Human Resources and will work alongside the HR team in all aspects of the HR function, including talent acquisition, employee relations, performance management, training and development, compliance, compensation and benefits, and organizational culture. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in the hospitality or restaurant industry and a strong understanding of the unique challenges and opportunities in this field.

Compensation: $110,000  - $130, 000 annually

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Act as a trusted advisor to managers and employees, addressing employee concerns, facilitating conflict resolution, and promoting a positive and inclusive work environment.
  •  Ensure the organization complies with all applicable labor laws, health and safety regulations, and internal policies
  • Manage employee-related risks and maintain appropriate documentation.
  • Support employee development, provide constructive feedback, and encourage high performance across the organization through our annually and mid year performance reviews and on a ongoing basis
  • Assist Culture & Development team with delivering training programs that enhance employee skills, promote leadership development, and ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations
  • Keep yourself up to date on industry compensation and benefits trends  to ensure top candidates are attracted and retained while aligning with the company's financial objectives
  • Foster a culture of continuous improvement by promoting employee engagement, supporting change management initiatives, and driving organizational effectiveness.
  • In partnership with the regional team, oversee the recruitment, selection, and onboarding processes to ensure the attraction and retention of top talent across all levels of the organization
  • Onboarding our talent in the most seamless and welcoming Momofuku way-combining technology, human interaction + simplicity
  • Work to develop innovative, creative guidelines and standards to ensure effective, fair, + consistent treatment of our teams across Momofuku
  • Develops and participates in the Performance Management Process, worker's comp and other initiatives and programs
  • On-going Human Resources projects and initiatives
  • Adhere to the philosophy of continuous improvement and continually evaluate all HR processes, systems, and initiatives. 

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field; a Master's degree or HR certification (e.g., SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, PHR, SPHR) is preferred
  • Subject matter expert with California and Nevada HR practices, employment and labor laws
  • At least 7 years of progressive HR experience, with at least 3 years in a leadership role within the hospitality or restaurant industry
  • with HR Information Systems + Payroll applications 
  • Strong knowledge of labor laws, regulations, and HR best practices specific to the restaurant or hospitality sector
  • Proven experience in talent acquisition, employee relations, performance management, and training and development
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and conflict resolution skills
  • Strong analytical skills with experience in HR metrics and data-driven decision-making.
