POSITION TITLE
Research Chemist, Performance Colorants & Ingredients
POSITION OVERVIEW
This position is responsible for inventing, leading, developing/validating, and commercializing new growth products within our innovation process with a particular emphasis on new molecule synthesis. The position requires a strong aptitude and desire for experimental work, use of scientific method, and clear communication of results. The applicant will primarily be involved in customer contact, ideation, proof of concept, development and validation of new technologies, though they may also be called to assist in regulatory, intellectual property, pilot plant, process development, and product support as appropriate. This R&D based position may be supported (and responsible to manage) at least one technical administrative associate. The position is located at Milliken & Company's corporate headquarters in Spartanburg SC and reports to the Group Leader for PCI synthesis. Occasional to frequent visits to external customers, production facilities, and conferences are expected (10% expected).
