Job Description

Through leading innovations, we help farmers around the world meet the challenge of feeding a growing population and taking care of our planet. We are currently seeking a Logistics Operations Lead for our North America Production & Supply team in Slater, Iowa.
The Logistics Operations Lead will develop, track, and support process changes, support overall P&S harmonization, and address interplant shipments and logistics.
Accountabilities

  • Drive process automation to enable data driven decisions
  • Be an ambassador of digital analytics within the dispatch, CAS and logistics functions
  • Development of an automated process for generating Interplant lists that incorporate seed size rules and provide list to production sites for execution; develop corresponding tracking methods/KPI’s that will include:
  • Corn seed movement
  • SB seed movement
  • Direct Materials movement
  • Aid in the monitoring and reporting of discards and returns
  • Represent the dispatch function as SME in company transformation efforts;
  • be the go-to partner for Customer Service function to optimize and improve CAS-Dispatch connectivity and related E2E process and CX
  • Serve as the connection point that brings the dispatch function together across all sites and crops; drive role and process consistency regardless of location
  • Lead documentation efforts for E2E dispatch process and related standard operating procedures
  • Support the dispatch operations team to drive in process standardization and harmonization, continuous improvement, and process improvement
  • Develop and drive a structured approach for best practice sharing across dispatch team
  • Lead training efforts on process, programs and systems that impact the dispatch role; Ensure that dispatch processes and procedures are understood and followed
  • Provide site dispatch performance feedback to leadership team and makes recommendations for process improvement, policy enhancement, and standardization of practices
  • Assess and ensure dispatch function KPIs are maintained to facilitate continuous improvement in the areas of delivery creation, shipping and tracking including routing, scheduling, on time metrics, and shipping cost management
  • Provide one point of contact for a consolidated view to key operations issues (e.g. returns)
  • Provide unified direction, ensure process adherence, harmonization, cross functional alignment and drive training across dispatch and CAS

Qualifications

This role has the authority and responsibility to drive cohesion between and among the NA logistics functions. Will also be accountable for training and teaching. This role will ensure the interplants are done timely and efficiently.
Critical Knowledge:

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Business or Logistics

Critical Experience:

  • 5+ years experience in Production, Logistics or Customer Service or related field; Distribution/Logistics preferred

Critical Capabilities:

  • Strong analytical ability to drive KPI’s and analysis
  • In depth knowledge of distribution and product storage operations
  • Ability to lead others through change, manage conflict and expectations, cater to multiple stakeholder groups
  • Process oriented with distinct ability to drive process improvement and optimization
  • Comfortable with managing through ambiguity and complexity
  • Strong negotiation and conflict management skills
  • Strong leadership - ability to provide clear guidance and entice others to follow direction
  • Excellent communication skills – ability to connect to all levels of the organization with clarity and impact
