GENERAL FUNCTION:

In this role, you will be responsible for all phases of campus recruiting including managing the relationships between the bank and the universities, promoting the Fifth Third brand on college campuses, and guiding senior level management through all campus recruiting objectives and/or initiatives. Your primary responsibility will be management of campus recruiting from event engagement to the candidate life cycle for early career talent. This includes but is not limited to the recruitment for our Leadership Programs, Line of Business (LOB) Direct Hires, Co-Ops, Internships, and Apprenticeships and shepherding candidates through the candidate experience - from application to offer.

While operating within the Bank's risk appetite, achieves results by consistently identifying, assessing, managing, monitoring, and reporting risks of all types.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Provide guidance and direction as the primary source of information for Leadership Program Managers and LOB members in the divisions and regions you support, as it relates to University Relations and recruiting at your assigned universities and for your Leadership Programs/Lines of Business.
  • Partner closely with business functions and Human Capital partners to align University Relations and programs efforts to Fifth Third’s overall hiring goals.
  • Establish Fifth Third Bank as an employer of choice on campus and utilize a "One Bank" approach to design and manage campus recruiting strategies including recruitment marketing, school selection, university relations, diverse candidate slates and effective time to fill.
  • Develop a strong understanding of divisional and regional business drivers and use that to anticipate university hiring needs. This includes understanding the profile of successful candidates and managing the division's effectiveness in meeting their campus goals related to quality, quantity, efficiency and diversity.
  • Develop a “One Bank” campus recruiting process and train all colleagues to ensure a consistent interview approach is used across the Bancorp.
  • Build and maintain favorable internal (including senior leadership) and external stakeholder relationships.
  • Contribute thought leadership related to talent and engagement strategies, process improvements, streamlining hiring decisions, etc.
  • Stay current and share industry best practices and trends, competitive intelligence, and lead thinking in the university relations and campus recruitment space.
  • Own all campus recruiting activities for assigned universities including, but not limited to:
    • Establishing and maintaining university career services relationships, as well as with faculty, administration, and student associations/organizations.
    • Ensuring all campus activities, job fairs, information sessions, and interview schedules are effectively planned and executed in partnership with assigned recruiting staff, Leadership Program representatives, or Line of Business personnel.
    • Tracking relationship efforts and candidate pool, developing metric reports/scorecards and presenting results on hiring and networking activities.
    • Partnering with Leadership Program Managers on special projects to provide consistent One Bank approach to university recruiting, the leadership programs, and intern experience.
    • Attending campus and conference events as needed.
  • Collaborate with other Human Capital and Bancorp colleagues on projects and initiatives.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: None.

MINIMUM KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES REQUIRED:

  • Bachelor's degree plus a minimum 3+ years of university recruitment or relevant experience required.
  • Experience with all campus engagement activities (career fairs, targeted events, student organization and faculty outreach) required.
  • Experience with full cycle recruiting of entry level and intern talent required.
  • Demonstrated project management skills and/or event coordination experience (intern program, rotational programs, hiring events).
  • Well organized with strong attention to detail.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to adapt to changing business environments are essential.
  • Must be able to demonstrate recruitment networking and creative sourcing skills.
