In Greece we conduct business through our joint venture with the National Bank of Greece, NBG Pay. NBG Pay provides merchant acquiring services to small, medium, large and corporate merchants across Greece. Services include the authorization, clearing, and settlement of credit, debit and prepaid card transactions between cardholders and merchants.
For NBG Pay, we are currently seeking a competent and experienced Senior Credit Manager.
What will you be doing
• Risk assessment and decisioning of merchant business models and applications in the POS (Point-of-Sale), MOTO (Mail Order/ Telephone Order), and ECOM (E-Commerce) transaction processing environment including the inherent risks related to credit card acceptance/acquiring
• Management and co-ordination of merchant underwriting team including planning,coaching, assignments, performance monitoring / evaluation, decisioning, delivery within deadlines / SLAs and recruitment
• Financial analysis based on business model risk, financial statements, forecasts, credit bureau data etc.
• Quantification of chargeback risk exposure and collateral / reserve requirements to mitigate
• Verification of adherence to AML /KYC, compliance requirements, scheme rules and credit risk guidelines / policies
• Proactive monitoring of newly boarded and existing merchants (thematic reviews, periodic credit reviews, behaviour alerts etc) and implementation of controls and mitigating actions to protect against performance issues, unacceptable merchant risk, losses and fines
• Ensuring timely risk event identification, mitigation and escalation including regular portfolio performance reporting and presentation to local and Group senior management.
• Continued development and maintenance of local merchant underwriting, team and risk monitoring policies, processes, procedures and controls to support and optimise merchant boarding SLAs, portfolio risk management, team performance and compliance in accordance with group and local company policies, objectives (including targets around application processing and losses) and industry requirements
• Collaboration with sales channels / partners for risk training and to advance new merchant applications
• Provide business support to internal specialists including policy drafting, reporting, change management and new product assessment
• Various risk reporting, investigating, new product assessment, change management and oversight tasks
You could be a great fit with these qualifications:
• Strong commercial and financial analysis skills with at least 7 years relevant experience in credit analysis and/or underwriting (preferably in a regulated fintech, payments or banking entity)
• Relevant people supervision / management experience
• Deliberate, decisive style with inherent attention to detail, logical approach, risk
awareness, business curiosity, and acumen
• Strong organisation and proactive management skills with adaptable
communication, negotiation and prioritization skills to influence and drive success within a robust, fast paced, customer focused environment
• Strong presentation, data analysis skills and command of excel
• Relevant 3rd level degree in business / finance / accounting
• Excellent Greek and English (verbal and written) essential
