Commercial Building Construction Inspector

We are looking for a Full-time Construction Inspector on a commercial building construction project to perform the following duties:

• Inspect construction projects at various stages for compliance with plans, specifications, codes, and regulations
• Review and interpret construction documents, including plans, blueprints, and specifications
• Perform field inspections and monitor construction activities to ensure compliance with approved plans and specifications
• Identify and document construction defects, deviations from approved plans, and code violations
• Prepare written reports summarizing inspection findings and recommend corrective actions
• Collaborate with contractors, architects, and engineers to address and resolve construction issues
• Monitor construction progress, including the completion of milestone activities and adherence to project schedules
• Ensure that all necessary permits and approvals are obtained and maintained throughout the construction process
• Attend project meetings and provide technical support, guidance, and clarification on construction-related matters

Requirements

• Thorough knowledge of commercial building construction practices, techniques, materials, and related codes and regulations
• Experience interpreting and applying building codes and regulations
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Proficient computer skills, including the ability to work with construction software and tools
• Ability to read and interpret construction documents, including plans, blueprints, and specifications
• Attention to detail and accuracy
• Ability to work independently and effectively manage time and workload

Education and Experience

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in commercial building construction, including experience in construction inspection
• Construction-related certifications or licenses are a plus

Physical Requirements:

• Frequent standing, walking, and climbing of stairs and ladders
• Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds

Work Environment:

• Work primarily performed in a construction field environment
• Exposure to various weather conditions and construction hazards
