Summary of Job Duties:

The University of Arkansas Division of Agriculture (UADA) is seeking an organized, experienced individual to serve as Executive Assistant to the Director of the Arkansas Agricultural Experiment Station (AAES), the research arm of the Division of Agriculture. The position is located in Fayetteville, Arkansas, at the Milo J. Shult Agricultural Research and Extension Center. The position reports to the Director of the Arkansas Agricultural Experiment Station /Senior Associate Vice President for Agriculture-Research.
We seek a detail-oriented experienced individual with excellent decision-making skills who works well independently under deadlines, follows through on projects, has excellent verbal and written communication skills, is adept at problem solving and has cultural competency. Successful candidates will have strong computer skills and be willing to learn new software as it is implemented.
The executive assistant will oversee the operation of the Director’s office, maintaining confidentiality and professionalism, while ensuring that all Division of Agriculture, University of Arkansas System and University of Arkansas, Fayetteville, policies are followed. Duties include managing the director’s calendar, scheduling meetings, many with multiple groups of people, planning travel, submitting expense reports, processing requests for the director’s signature, facilitating required reporting for the Division of Agriculture and the Agricultural Experiment Station, and determining how to handle all issues that arise.
As executive assistant to the Director of the Arkansas Agricultural Experiment Station, this position collaborates with the executive assistants to the Dean of the Dale Bumpers College of Agricultural, Food and Life Sciences and the Director of the Cooperative Extension Service in Little Rock. The three executive assistants are responsible for scheduling joint meetings and facilitating and steering joint processes on behalf of the Senior Associate Vice Presidents for Research, Academic Programs and Extension, such as promotion and tenure, annual faculty evaluations, annual unit head evaluations, annual budget meetings, Division and AES awards and the annual awards luncheon.
