Who You’ll Work With

As an independent division within Barry-Wehmiller Design Group, Inc., ControlTech Automation (CTA) is a control panel integrator and fabricator for process, packaging, utility, and other industries. CTA is based in St. Louis and specializes in control panels for systems integrators and production facilities located throughout the United States. CTA provides control solutions for single pieces of equipment, entire processes, and complete plants. CTA has engineering design capabilities and builds panels from customer-supplied design packages.

When you join ControlTech Automation as a Wireman, you are joining a team that will challenge you and position you for growth. In this role, you will work with a team of industry experts to help the world’s leading companies solve their most difficult problems. You will join our Control Systems Integration team and partner with seasoned leaders, technical specialists, and subject matter experts to deliver the highest quality solutions to our clients with consistency and accuracy.

Hours: This position would work on 3rd Shift, typically overnight from 10PM-6:30AM.

What You’ll Do

  • Assemble/wire components accurately, thoroughly, and quickly to approved manufacturing specifications and standards
  • Measure panels, assemble components, and adjust parts for proper fit using the proper hand and power tools
  • Drill, tap, ream, countersink, and spot-face bolt holes in parts using drill presses and portable power drills
  • Attach name plates and mark identifying information on parts
  • Read and interpret basic blueprints, wiring diagrams, specifications, and work orders to determine materials requirements and assembly instructions of electromechanical units
  • Disassemble units to replace parts or crate them for shipping
  • Clean and lubricate parts and subassemblies
  • Collaborate with management during the wiring/assembly process, including informing them of equipment defects
  • Rotate through multiple stations on a given shift
  • Complete project work per time allotted
  • Maintain and service all manufacturing equipment
  • Comply with current UL (Underwriter Laboratories) specifications
  • Adhere strictly to company policies
  • Make an impact day-to-day with your skills and expertise, strengthening relationships with our clients and team

What You’ll Bring

  • A High School Diploma or GED
  • The ability to lift and carry a minimum of 50 pounds without assistance
  • Proficiency in blueprint reading and interpretation
  • Wiring, assembly, and fabrication skills
  • The ability to measure parts to determine tolerances using measuring instruments
  • Skilled in using basic hand and power tools including, pliers, screw drivers, wrenches, wire cutters, saws, drills, and grinders
  • The ability to meet and exceed production expectations
  • A willingness to learn and embrace our manufacturing practices and standards
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to take initiative to address and solve problems
  • A willingness to be flexible, dependable, and work as part of a team
  • Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office products, including Word, Excel, and Outlook
