As a Supervisor Maintenance, you will have the opportunity to tap into your curiosity and collaborate with some of the most innovative people around the world. Here, you will make an impact by:

• Supervises and directs direct reports with planning and execution of their assigned tasks and projects.  Monitors progress and evaluate completed assignments to confirm use of correct procedures and to evaluate quality of work.
• Provides engineering support in the coordination of documentation related activities, i.e., drawing revisions, test methods revisions, specifications, work order management, mechanical integrity, calibration, etc.
• Identifies and oversees the development and implementation of a variety of operational, policy and procedural changes to improve service and reduce costs. 
• Oversees, communicates, and implements approved programs or systems. Understands and supports safety guidelines, Manual 80, maintenance conscious engineering, and process safety management. 
• Works with Sourcing to write and monitor purchase specifications and contractor selection.
• Schedule, assign, and direct craftspeople in performance of tasks for installation, maintenance of equipment and/or facilities for Plant Engineering. Provides employees with proper tools, equipment and information including any changes that may affect their work. Acquire or develop appropriate maintenance and troubleshooting documentation to assure effective and consistent procedures for equipment maintenance. Ensure appropriate use of computerized maintenance record systems to contribute to efficiency of operations and to assure availability of information for future decisions relating to Plant Engineering functions.
• Understands and follows global financial standards applicable to the position. Responsible for creation, release, and change of necessary documentation.
• Ensures employees receive training as specified to their craft and business needs. Willingness to be on-call

Your Skills and Expertise 

To set you up for success in this role from day one, 3M requires (at a minimum) the following qualifications:

• Associates degree/Technical/vocational/trade school degree or higher in a specific field Electrical, Mechanical, electronics (completed and verified prior to start) from an accredited institution
• Five (5) years of Maintenance / Plant Engineering experience in a private, public, government or military environment

Additional qualifications that could help you succeed even further in this role include:

• Bachelor’s degree or higher (completed and verified prior to start) from an accredited institution
• Ten years of Maintenance / Plant Engineering experience in a private, public, government or military environment
• Skills include… Leadership and supervisory skills necessary for managing people, knowledge of corporate/location policies and procedures, effective communications, performance management, hiring and interviewing, documentation, coaching skills, change management, conflict resolution, delegation, goal setting, motivation, emotional intelligence, strategic planning.

• On-site Knoxville IA

Travel: May include up to 10% domestic
