Collins Aerospace is looking for a Maintenance Mechanic IV to support our San Marcos, TX Site Location. A Maintenance Mechanic Performs a variety of work to maintain machines, mechanical equipment, and the structure of our facilities in good condition. Duties Primarily include PM and repair of production related equipment. Consider Joining our Team!

What You Will do:

  • Work Onsite at our San Marcos, TX Location
  • Work 1st Shift hours (7am – 3 :30pm) Monday - Friday
  • Work varying shifts, including on call rotations.
  • Upon hire you will be required to pass a Respiratory Medical Certification
  • Use affixed ladders to work on large equipment which will require ascending and descending heights.
  • Performs maintenance and repairs of mechanical, electrical, and other physical structures.
  • Working Under General supervision and perform a variety of Maintenance Operations including equipment, electrical and plumbing repair.
  • Maintains, troubleshoots and repairs CNC/PLC Controlled equipment
  • Technical project execution: Works with Engineering, creates project plans for control upgrades, Installs and creates/updates drawings
  • Perform installations, methodical troubleshooting, problem solving, tear down, repair, re-assembly and test, fabrication and/or replacement of worn or broken parts of factory
  • Provides support of air compressors, boilers, and HVAC systems (Closed loop systems).
  • Installs, diagnosis, and repairs of electrical 120VAC, 240 VAC, 480VAC, single and three phase systems with a variety of test equipment, i.e. digital multi-meter, oscilloscope, etc
  • Perform external diagnostics, and repair as needed on multi-axis CNC controls (Fanuc) and PLC (Allen-Bradley, Delta Tau, etc.).
  • Perform checks on wastewater treatment facility for proper chemical balance and environmental compliance.
  • Perform preventative maintenance on NC equipment
  • Complies with SOPs (standard operating procedures), internal requirements, manufacturer specifications and safety policies.
  • Lead project technical aspects
  • Work closely with facilities engineering on technical projects.
  • Contribute to the development, modification, and implementation of Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) policies related to maintenance operations
  • May perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications You Must Have:

  • HS diploma and a minimum of 3 years of relevant troubleshooting and repair of industrial equipment experience
  • U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are authorized to access information under this program/contract 
  • Experience Reading and interpreting blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals
  • Basic Computer Skills and knowledge of software (word and excel)
