About the role
Enveda is looking for a Staff or Principal Data Scientist to join our team remotely!
The contribution you will make:As a Staff / Principal Data Scientist at Enveda, you will help build and validate Enveda's Platform for drug discovery. You will architect, benchmark, and validate algorithms for identifying molecules from mass spectrometry data. You will perform experimental analyses to identify novel medicines from nature, and large-scale informatics to better understand the entire chemical space of nature. You will work in drug discovery with chemists, biologists, automation scientists, software engineers, and other data scientists.
As a member of the Platform Data Science team, you will work interdisciplinary with other products at Enveda, reporting to the Director of Data Science.

The contribution you will make:As a Staff / Principal Data Scientist at Enveda, you will help build and validate Enveda's Platform for drug discovery. You will work in drug discovery with chemists, biologists, automation scientists, software engineers, and other data scientists.
As a member of the Platform Data Science team, you will work interdisciplinary with other products at Enveda, reporting to the Director of Data Science.
The contribution you will make:
- Optimize and validate an end-to-end metabolomic data analysis pipeline
- Create, benchmark, and validate new algorithms for LC-MS peak calling, grouping, and linking
- Generate and contribute to statistical analyses of -omics datasets generated in our lab
- Work closely with biologists, chemists, and engineers to deliver data and analyses that drive Enveda's mission to discover new medicines from nature
- Conceptualize analyses designed to answer research questions related to the company mission
Who will thrive in this role?
- Ability to lead the design of well-reasoned data science experiments with controls and generate bespoke algorithms to solve complex problems.
- More than 8 years of experience working on data science problems applied to life sciences (bioinformatics, chemistry, biology, medicine, physics, informatics, or related subjects) with a background in computer science, statistics, probability, and/or machine learning.
- Fluency in the Python data science stack including advanced statistical and modeling techniques.
- Experience clearly conveying scientific results through data visualization and in writing.
- Enthusiasm for collaborating and bridging gaps in cross-functional teams.
- 5+ years of industry or postdoctoral research experience and a proven track record of technical leadership on large research problems. Supporting Skill Sets
