About the role
Introduction:
ARServices is seeking an experienced Senior Acquisition Specialist to support a federal customer responsible for advancing research, development, and acquisition strategies in support of national security objectives. This role is ideal for professionals with a strong foundation in federal acquisition planning, procurement execution, and programmatic coordination—who are excited to contribute to technically focused and mission-driven efforts. This position requires an active Secret clearance.
Position Description Synopsis
As part of a multidisciplinary program support team, the Senior Acquisition Specialist will provide strategic acquisition and programmatic support to DTRA across the full acquisition lifecycle. This includes early-phase planning, strategy sessions, documentation development, and coordination with government stakeholders. The role is designed for professionals who can apply deep knowledge of federal acquisition regulations to support the efficient execution of complex R&D efforts, while maintaining clear communication across technical, financial, and operational teams.
Location & Travel:
This is a full-time position based in Fort Belvoir, with 0% of travel expected.

A qualified candidate will perform the following duties and responsibilities, but are not limited to:
• Provide expert acquisition planning and coordination support to government program leads.
• Assist with the preparation, scheduling, and facilitation of acquisition strategy sessions and technical reviews.
• Review acquisition documents for clarity, compliance, and alignment with mission priorities.
• Support the development of planning, budgeting, and execution documentation.
• Assist with creation of program-level briefings, reports, and leadership updates.
• Maintain communication and coordination across internal and external program stakeholders.
• Support risk analysis, strategy development, and business process improvement initiatives.
• Provide assistance with records management, task tracking, and documentation control.
• Coordinate and support virtual and in-person meetings, including scheduling and materials preparation.
Security Clearance Requirement:
• Active Secret clearance
Required Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree in business, finance, or a related field
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in federal acquisition or program support roles
• Familiarity with the full acquisition lifecycle and related federal regulations
• Experience supporting senior government officials in a fast-paced environment
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office 365, including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Teams, and SharePoint
• Strong written and verbal communication skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities
• Ability to learn and adapt to new software and internal systems
Preferred Qualifications:
• Experience supporting research and development programs within the federal or defense sector
• Knowledge of planning, programming, budgeting, and execution (PPBE) processes
• Familiarity with various acquisition funding mechanisms (e.g., OTA, BAA, MIPR)
• Prior work supporting DTRA or other national security-focused agencies
• Completion of formal acquisition-related training or coursework (DAU or equivalent)
